A brief History of the TEW brand
TEW Control Solutions may be a new business entity, however the history of the brand and association with the city of Nottingham is a long one.
1914
1914 W.H.TEW
William Tew set up his own business of Electrical Engineers and Contractors specialising in Power, Lifts and Lighting.
1971
TEW Engineering
Under new ownership, the business developed to produce control panels, often with mimic diagrams. In 1980 TEW were appointed the sole UK partner for the Subklew Mosiac Mimic system, providing a modular graphic display or control fascia.
2015
LB Foster
TEW sold to US rail corporate LB Foster as they looked to expand their presence in the UK and Europe.
2026

The TEW Brand has now been taken back into private ownership, allowing a dedicated focus on providing high- quality engineered solutions.
